Wilton's Bits
Kyle and Paige at ITFs
Paige won the Canterbury ITF last week beating Hong Kongs Carina Ma Ka Man in the final. I was with Paige during the tournament and was impressed by her professional attitude and preparation for her matches. There were dozens of top international girls that caught my eye on the 1st round of play, but Hourigan was too good for all of them. It was very impressive to watch. She is hitting a very powerful and flat ball was very athletic & powerful around the court.

Kyle Butters took out the doubles title in Ashburton and was kind enough to catch a
special flight to play the Adidas Cup for Wanganui. He flew out the next day to Auckland
after catching a wild boar with Rob Manson. This was great prep because he made a big
break-through at the Auckland ITF. He is into the semi-finals of this grade 3 ITF. In the
1st round on Monday he got revenge on the highly funded Marc Polmans who beat him in
the final or the Aussie Champs, In the quarter finals Thursday he destroyed the 3rd seed
and World junior #189 6-2 6-1.

for boys, one for girls). If you are available it would be great help. Contact me asap.

Ball machine
The Ball Machine is available for the use of any club member, it is a great tool to help you find your rhythm and groove your stroke. Also great for the kids. If you need to use the ball machine contact Wilton Atkins 027 60 60 660, or a club member that has a swipe card to the shed. Andre Agassi’s father Mike Agassi had the right idea.

Gabi Hiri
Congratulations to Gabi for winning the 14’s Singles & Doubles at the Taranaki Open. Keep up the great work Gabi.

(If you know of other achievement, email me at tenniswang@xtra.co.nz)
